More Omaha Dogs (and Cats), More Room to Care: Hound HQ Grows Downtown
Hound HQ has officially expanded with the recent acquisition of Downtown Hound, an established pet care provider located at 1513 Leavenworth Street. That means Hound HQ now has two Omaha locations: our original West Omaha location and a new Downtown Omaha location.
For Omaha pet owners, this gives more families access to locally owned daycare, overnight boarding and grooming, while building on a Downtown Omaha pet care business that has already been serving the community for over a decade.
A new location with a familiar history
For years, Downtown Hound has been part of the Downtown Omaha community, caring for dogs and cats through daycare, boarding, grooming, and cat boarding services. A lot of our community already knows the building, the team and the routine, so we aren’t about to upend all of that. The goal is to carry it forward with the same pet-first approach that guides Hound HQ.
Soon, clients should expect few changes to the Downtown Hound experience. Current managers Caitlyn and Aryn will continue overseeing the location, so the people you know running the show will still be there for you. That’s especially important in pet care. Dogs notice changes. Owners do too. Keeping familiar faces involved helps make the transition smoother for everyone.
Local and more access
Hound HQ opened its first location in West Omaha in January 2024 with a focus on attentive care and convenient services for Omaha-area pet owners. Since then, the goal has been simple: provide dependable, thoughtful care for dogs and the people who love them. Adding a Downtown Omaha location helps Hound HQ serve more of the metro while staying rooted in the same local ownership and hands-on approach. Hound HQ is locally owned, independently operated and focused on building real relationships with Omaha pet owners. Whether someone lives downtown, works nearby or needs an easier option closer to their daily routine, having an Downtown Omaha location makes quality pet care more accessible.
Daycare, boarding and grooming all involve trust. You are leaving a family member with another person and hoping they understand all the little things about your pet. That has been part of Hound HQ’s approach from the beginning. The team gets to know each furry personality, comfort level, energy and routine so their experience can feel safe, fun and balanced.
As the Downtown location joins Hound HQ, that same attention to detail will guide the transition. The goal is to support the existing team, continue earning the trust Downtown Hound has built, and give even more Omaha pets a place to be cared for the right way.
Omahans live west, work downtown, visit family across the metro, run errands everywhere and somehow still need to get their pet to daycare, boarding, or grooming without turning the entire day into a logistical puzzle. With Hound HQ in West Omaha and now Downtown Omaha, pet owners have more flexibility when planning care.

When care is easier to access, it becomes simpler to keep up with routines that help dogs feel comfortable, socialized, clean and active. What clients can expect during the transition
Both the West Omaha and Downtown Omaha locations will continue providing pet care services during the transition. The Downtown location will continue operating with its current management team in place, and Hound HQ will work closely with the existing team to support a smooth experience for pets, clients, and employees. Additional updates about the Downtown location will be shared directly with clients as plans move forward.
For now, the biggest message is simple: Hound HQ is excited to welcome Downtown Hound’s clients, pets, and team, while continuing the level of care Omaha families expect.
